Kamen Rider, known in Indonesia as Ksatria Baja Hitam
Kamen Rider is Toei Company Japan's transforming-hero franchise, running since 1971. Indonesians first met it on Sunday-morning television in the 1990s as Ksatria Baja Hitam (Kamen Rider Black RX), and the name still carries strong recognition among people aged 35 to 45. FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Who holds Kamen Rider licensing rights in Indonesia?
Toei Company Japan owns Kamen Rider. In Indonesia, Victory Licensing acts as Toei's official agent for tokusatsu brand collaborations, merchandise and events. Brands do not negotiate with Toei directly; Victory Licensing prepares the proposal and manages the license process.
Can an Indonesian brand make official Kamen Rider merchandise?
Yes. Indonesian brands in apparel, collectibles, tech, F&B, automotive and events can license Kamen Rider through Victory Licensing. Recent examples are the Kamen Rider × Cosmonauts streetwear and the 2026 Kamen Rider × Fantech range. Every design is approved by Toei before production.
Is Ksatria Baja Hitam the same as Kamen Rider Black RX?
Yes. Ksatria Baja Hitam was the Indonesian broadcast title of Kamen Rider Black RX (1988–1989) when it aired on Indonesian television in the 1990s. The name still carries strong recognition among Indonesians aged 35 to 45.
How long does Toei approval take?
Each Toei approval round takes about 10 business days (Victory Licensing, 2026). Victory Licensing prepares submissions to Toei's style guide, so projects usually clear in one or two rounds.
